Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga was founded by Sri K. Pattabhi Jois in Mysore (South of India). Also called Power Yoga, it involves synchronizing the breath with a progressive series of postures.

“Vinyasa” means “breath-synchronized movement” : in other words, the teacher will instruct you to move from one pose to the next on an inhale or an exhale. The purpose of vinyasa is for internal cleansing.

It  it is a very energetic form of Yoga and progressively gives strength, flexibility and endurance.
